The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold;
I've already watched the movie a year ago and when I saw this book at a nearest Booksale, I grabbed it and decided to read it for curiosity's sake.
It is the story of a teenage girl who, after being raped and murdered, watches from her personal Heaven as her family and friends struggle to move on with their lives while she comes to terms with her own death.
• What did you recently finish reading? The City of Ember - by Jeanne DuPrau;
Another book adapted into a movie; and just like The Lovely Bones, it has been topbilled by the actress Saoirse Ronan.
The City of Ember is a post-apocalyptic novel about Ember, an underground city that is slowly running out of power and supplies due to its aging infrastructure. The young protagonist, Lina Mayfleet, and her friend, Doon Harrow, manage to decode a message and follow clues left behind by the original builders of the City of Ember that would lead them to safety in the outside world.

I'm planning to read another Meg Cabot creation, probably, The Mediator Series featuring "Shadowland" and "Ninth Key"
