"As You Wish"

Hmmm. I don't normally say this, but I found myself  liking the movie version better than the book.

Ouch! Sorry. It's just that the basic elements on the movie itself were complete and more humorous than that on the words written on the book. Although the movie was set, filmed and shown in 1987, I was only able to watch it a month ago and I was rather weary watching it. More like bored, actually. Well, what do you expect? The lighting and the different cinematic presentations of the 21st century was nowhere seen on the 80's film.

But when I got to read the book and compare it with the one I watched, I finally realized, I'd rather watch Buttercup & Westly's love story again on the big screen than dwell with the way the situations and plots were written on the book.

Sorry, it's just my imagination were really flying with colors with the movie. The movie was really hilarious!

But of course, I still enjoyed reading the book, after I've gotten an idea about the story. Yet, I was disappointed because the funny lines were'nt there. Inconceivable! The story of Princess Buttercup and her true love Westley and their adventures is fun, of course, and wonderfully whimsical and inventive, but it has less heart than the movie version.

Okay enough of the comparison. Overall, I'll just say that The Princess Bride is one of the most romantic stories ever written and definitely the most charming! It made me realize about the saying, "You don't know what 'true love' is until you lose it." And then you'll want to give up everything just to have it back with you for any fraction of a second.

Best part of the film which I didn't find in the book:

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die!

AS YOU WISH!

hehehehe..

My rating for The Princess Bride: 3 bookmarks!
