Jumper & Friends

Title: Jumper & Friends
Author: Rebecca Scarberry
ebook
Published September 5th 2014

Jumper, the friendly talking red ball, goes on more great adventures with his owner, Tony Thompson and Bouncy Brianna, Emily’s red ball. They both experience new things like tubing, sailing, and Jumper has a wonderful Christmas.

I love this book, not because my own kids’ names were in the story, (yes, my sons Kyle & Kian are characters here!) but also because the story of Jumper and his friends brought so much joy to those who read it.

Jumper made new friends and enjoyed every minute they’re all together – festivals, sailboat rides, Halloween, Christmas, and yes, even when the thought his friend Bouncy disappeared because the magician “magicked” her, Jumper still had a lot of fun being a red ball.

My kids really enjoyed listening to me when I read them this book. They actually jumped up and down everytime their names were mentioned in the book. It was an awesome experience!

Thanks so much Miss Rebecca Scarberry for this wonderful book, for including my kids’ name and making them friends with Jumper, and bringing unlimited supply of smiles to everyone. I am personally touched by this book. Again, thank you!

The Peaceful Lion and the Nagging Crow

Title: The Peaceful Lion and the Nagging Crow
Author: Assaf Marcus
Illustrations by: Malgorzata Godziuk

For those of you who doesn't know, I have three kids - all boys - and being around them either gives me peace of mind or chaotic heartbeats. It's never easy raising a bunch of kids but I thought I could manage. However, when I chanced upon the book, The Peaceful Lion and the Nagging Crow, it seems like a whole new world was opened up for me.

Essentially, this is a story about a lion that had been quiet and living peacefully, while a rowdy crow did nothing but pester and make the lion angry. I was appalled by the behavior of the crow; he actually represented a bully constantly picking on someone else, testing their emotions. But what surprised me more was the calmness of the big lion amidst the chaos that the annoying crow brings. For how long did the lion keet up with the crow’s antics, that I won't reveal. The great thing about this book is the lesson that my kids were able to learn after reading and understanding Peaceful Lion's advice. Like I said, this book opened up a whole new world for me! Me and my little boys' world now becomes more peaceful and serene.

For those who want to teach their child how to deal with bullies or control their anger and accept gifts, this is the best book I'd highly recommend. I'm giving two thumbs up for Assaf Marcus for a distinctly effective way of spreading the message of peace and value of gift-giving among people.

Excerpts from Goodreads:
Teach your children the important skills of anger management and how to deal with bullies! Often child behavior problems are about kids struggling to manage their anger while attempting to find their inner peace. Oppositional behavior, disrespect, conflict and aggression can often be decreased by helping kids learn how to handle these issues better. This illustrated story will give you the tools to help your child with anger management through finding his inner peace.
This inspiring fable tells the story of two animals - “The Peaceful Lion And The Nagging Crow” in which the crow tries to annoy the lion in countless ways.
Will the crow manage to finally get the lion angry or upset? Will the crow give up? Can the lion manage to stay calm and peaceful or will he get angry at last?
When two such distinct animals as “The Peaceful Lion and The Nagging Crow” interact with each other, the result is a story with a lesson worthy of reading by all mankind. How to achieve inner peace and the realization that external forces can disrupt that peace or even forbid it are the two lessons which are cradled in this beautiful illustrated story by Assaf Marcus.

Jumper Bounces Back

Jumper Bounces Back (Vol 2)
by Rebecca Scarberry
ebook, Paperback, 68 pages
Published February 13th 2014

Jumper’s adventures continue after his escape from Little Tykes Toys & Bikes. He’s a big friendly red beach ball that children love. Join in the fun as Jumper tells you all about his summer escapades. With the help of Mr. Wind, he meets many new people and the fun is non-stop. This is the second book in the Jumper series and it has a bonus coloring page.

When I first read Jumper to my two boys, they were all smiles as they imagined Jumper and his adventures and wish to go to Carnival Castle. Soon every night, I read the book to them before going to sleep. Not long after, Rebecca Scarberry wrote the sequel, Jumper Bounces Back and me and my kids couldn't have been more happy! This time, Jumper found happiness with his new owner, Emily and had adventures in Fair Ground and met a new friend, Teddy.

After reading this second book to them, my kids told me to get the author's attention and ask her to turn the book into a TV Kiddie series, just like Spongebob and Blue's Clues! My kids really loved the story and are even more excited when they learned that there's another book coming soon! Yipeee!

We're all excited to read the next adventures that will be coming Jumper's way.

Jumper

Title: Jumper
Author: Rebecca Scarberry

Join in the fun as Jumper tells about his adventures. He’s a red beach ball trying to escape from a toy store so that he can find a swimming pool and Carnival Castle. Children love beach balls and they’ll love them even more after reading about Jumper.

I most definitely agree with Jumper when he first introduced himself. “Hi, I’m Jumper! I am a red beach ball, the funnest and bounciest beach ball you’ll have the pleasure of owning!” My kids couldn’t agree more.

I read Jumper’s story to my kids before going to bed. They really love it when I read them bedtime stories. Their faces lit up and their eyes dance with joy. When I read to them this red beach ball’s adventures, they seem to bounce off their feet, excited everytime Mr. Wind helps Jumper go far far away.

Jumper is a red beach ball who had one simple wish: to go to Carnival Castle and be able to try all the rides there. Only problem was, he was inside a toy store, along with other balls. One day, he was able to go out of the store, with the help of a windy friend. Soon his adventures outside the store began. Little did he know that there were a lot of obstacles that would prevent him from fulfilling his dream.

This short story about a red beach ball is a fun book to read. The illustrations were fantastic, my kids enjoyed seeing the pictures and they’re clamoring for more. The dialog was simple enough for kids to understand. There was never a dull moment, and my boys have actually requested for this story over and over again. I highly recommend Jumper to everyone who have kids and to those “young at heart”.

I heard gunshots coming from the lobby and ran downstairs to check on my dad. By the time I got there, he was just calmly zipping up his workbag while three unconscious gunmen hung by their feet from the chandelier, their robes falling over their heads so you could see their boxer shorts.
Dad claimed not to have witnessed anything, and in the end, the police blamed a freak chandelier malfunction.
