My Musing for today is about my reading habit.

As you all know, I have a habit of reading books with a theme for every month. Last month, July, is the second part or second half of the year, so I read Sequels or the second books of a trilogy.. This week, or should I say, this month of August is all about Angels and Demons!

Yes, I have already arranged my shelves to make sure that I am gonna read books that have angels and demons on them. I am all about Angels, their origins, their kinds, their love lives. Next, I'd love to know more about their counterparts, too. The Demons. The Black angels. The Evil monsters. Here are my upcoming Books-To-Read this month:

Musing Monday - January

Happy New Year!!

Here's our all-new Musing Mondays from Miz B of Should Be Reading, where she asks a book/reading-related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic:

This year, Miz B made some changes with Musing Mondays and she asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.

I'd like to answer the first one, about reading habits.

Truth is, I usually prefer reading at night, when all else are quietly sleeping. And usually I lie on my back, until I grow weary and then change position or sit as if I am on a magic carpet. And I make sure that the ever hot cup of coffee is just beside me.

Likewise, I make it a point that there is a THEME that I follow when I read a book each month. Let's say, for this month of January, the books I'm gonna read are the Bestseller Series. AND I am starting the year with the Iron Fey series.. Whoop-de-doo!!!

What are you currently reading? Is it any good? Would you recommend it?

Today I'm reading back-to-back short stories from Susan Hatler entitled:

 The Boyfriend Bylaws and My Last Blind Date.

   

Both stories are chick-lit, have feel-good effects after reading. The stories are really cute.. Recommended for hopeless romantics :)

Musing Mondays (Oct. 3)

Today's Monday musing from Miz B of Should Be Reading, where she will ask a book/reading-related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic:

What are you most excited about reading, right now? (can be a book you’re currently enjoying, or a book that’s yet to be published, etc.)

Actually, I'm excited with a lot of recently published book (sequels). So I'm making October my Sequel Month. Here are some of the books I'm excited to read in the next few days.

Vanish (sequel to Firelight)

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone. 

Uncommon Criminals (sequel to Heist Society)

Katarina Bishop has worn a lot of labels in her short life life. Friend. Niece. Daughter. Thief. But for the last two months she’s simply been known as the girl who ran the crew that robbed the greatest museum in the world. That’s why Kat isn’t surprised when she’s asked to steal the infamous Cleopatra Emerald so it can be returned to its rightful owners. 

There are only three problems. First, the gem hasn’t been seen in public in thirty years. Second, since the fall of the Egyptian empire and the suicide of Cleopatra, no one who holds the emerald keeps it for long, and in Kat’s world, history almost always repeats itself. But it’s the third problem that makes Kat’s crew the most nervous and that is simply… the emerald is cursed.

 This week’s musing is…

Who do you think is the hottest male/female character from a book? 

Oh my. I'm sure, even if I haven't read the blogs of other Musing Mondays participants, I think the runaway winner would be Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries. Who would think otherwise? He's got the looks, the body, the sneer, the physique, the wit, the fangs! ... everything!

He's everything a lady desires (don't even think of comparing him to Edward Cullen because Damon is waaaayyyy super hotter than him, hehehe.. )

Honestly, I haven't finished reading Vampire Diaries books (I'm still on The Awakening, gosh!) But I'm a regular viewer of the TV series and Damon is the reason why my ass is glued on my seat while watching the series.

The other Hot Male character for me would be John Smith from the book I am Number Four, written by Pittacus Lore (a pseudonym for James Frey and Jobie Hughes). 

John Smith is the protagonist of the novel, and Number Four in the sequence protecting the nine Loric children living and hiding on Earth. He was portrayed by Alex Pettyfer in the movie (of the same name) . Alex is exactly the person I envisioned when I first read the book. For me, he's perfect for John Smith! Hot!

 As for the Hot female characters from the book, I only got one choice and that would be, none other than Katniss Everdeen - the main character of Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games trilogy

Katniss Everdeen is everything a girl could dream of - she's a perfect role model for the youth. Katniss is a highly skilled archer, hunter, and trapper, having learned these from her father and bestfriend Gale, honed to keep her family from starving. . She's brave, bold, logical & loving. Jennifer Lawrence is set to portray Katniss in the upcoming movie The Hunger Games.

• borrowed from the library? i think it was “Wuthering Heights" which I learned was the only novel by Emily Brontë.


• bought? “Careful What You Wish For" by Lucy Finn - I wanna have my own genie in a bottle, baby!


• cried over? "Vive La Paris" by Esme Raji Codell - very touching story about being a brother's keeper!!


• disliked and couldn’t finish? Love's Choices by Penny Jordan - my gosh, i got bored after reading the first chapter :(


• read & loved? “Inkheart” by Cornelia Funke - a classic!

Another Monday Musing from MizB of Should Be Reading. This week’s musing asks…

When you were little, did other children tease you about your reading habits?

Nope... They weren't actually aware that I read a lot. I went to the Library to read and not all of the kids go there so I was safe with my nerdy self  :) That was on my grade school years.

In high school, pretty much the same, except that I halted from reading fantasy books and traded them with textbooks, so it was perfectly okay if other kids my age saw me read with my glasses on.
